Live Strong

“Live Strong” was a brand created by Nike and Cyclist Lance Armstrong.  Armstrong was world renowned for his greatness in cycle races, he became infamous based on the revelation that he used performance enhancing drugs to assist him during his great career.  During his time on top he created “Live Strong” to represent recovery from Cancer.  He survived cancer a few times and wanted to be a source of inspiration to others dealing with illnesses.  "Live Strong" became a symbol of hope for many and a popular brand for Nike as a company.

Lessons On How To Live Strong

"Choose To Be Your Greatest Self."

As Cycle Breakers we have to choose to be our greatest selves at all times.  There is no other acceptable option.  We are all human and we all make mistakes, however those mistakes do not have to drown out our contributions.  Armstrong was using drugs to win races, but that doesn’t change the fact that he made a positive contribution to the world through the “Live Strong” movement.

Let’s take “Live Strong” and apply it to our lives so that we can strive to be successful and positive despite our “failures, flops and flaws.”

“Live Strong in Your Relationships.”

To "Live Strong" in your relationships is to put your best foot forward and expect the best from those who are in relationship with you.  Life is too short and too fragile to spend time in relationships with people who are not adding value to your existence.  Seek strong and powerful relationships built on support, transparency and loyalty.

“Live Strong in Your Associations.”

Your associations are different than your relationships.  Relationships require some level of intimacy or friendship.  An association is not as strong as a relationship.  It's simply a connection with a person who you have allowed to occupy some area of your life.  It is important to “Live Strong” in your associations because your associations can lead to bad situations. For example:

☯️ Being in the car with an unlicensed driver can be the difference between you walking or riding home.

☯️ Going out with a group of people can be the difference between you having a good time or you being caught up in “The Legal Matrix.”

☯️ Listening to advice from the wrong person can cause you to make a decision that will change the direction of your future

"Living Strong For Your Reputation."

Your life matters, your assets matter.  One of your greatest assets is your reputation.  Choose to “Live Strong” so that your reputation creates opportunities for you long before you even arrive.

The Power of Meditation

I made it to 751 days of daily meditation!!

I can tell you that it has been a game changer for the way that I approach conflict, challenges and every day living. It doesn’t make me or anything I face perfect but meditation has provided me with a tool that has helped me navigate life’s obstacles in a healthier way.

Meditation has become a popular trend. You can find meditation experts, classes, challenges pretty much everywhere. There is no doubt that meditation has become an example of being “woke”. Diving deeper than just the glitz you will find that meditation has many benefits.

The Power of Meditation

Through silence there is speech
When you sit still and intentionally block out the noise of the world messages will come to you. It doesn’t matter what your spiritual or religious beliefs may be, we all can acknowledge that there is a voice inside of us that speaks when we listen. If you want that voice to speak life to you, you have to listen.  I must add a word of caution that depending upon what your current dominate thoughts are, that voice could be dark and negative. Don’t listen to a dark or negative message while you are meditating.  Once  you feel that emotion/message coming, acknowledge it and let it pass.

Meditation strengthens the mind. Your mind is a muscle. All muscles need exercise or they will decrease in ability. Meditation can build your mental stability and memory, thereby slowing down decay.

Meditation gives you space. When you meditate, even for a few minutes you are able to create space between actions and reactions. When you create space you are able to make better decisions.
 How To Meditate
  1. Find a comfortable space
  2. Try to eliminate noise
  3. Sit still
  4. Focus on a color, word, phrase or something positive
These are the first steps to beginning a meditation practice.

There is another amazing tool.  You can join Me and Carmen Wheatley, the “Nurse Yogi,” on a 30 day journey to healing and power! This Zoom group will meditate, pray, study and move our bodies! You will be amazed at the transformation your life will make after this program.
